My name is Marian from Philippines. I am family-oriented person, 18 years old single. I was born and raised being poor. We lived in the province particularly in the farm area. I am the eldest among the 4 siblings. Since we don't have electricity connection, to our shelter, we use only kerosine lamp at night. We wish to have electricity connection to our shelter because ever since we don't have electric connection. I borrow phone from relatives or neighbors so that I can go online. We use only firewood in our cooking. My mother passed away long time ago now. I still have father, working as seasonal farm laborer in that farm. And his earning is not even enough for our daily living. He wants to have a water Buffalo or "Carabao" and a Plow so that he can make more money than an ordinary laborer. A farm owner hire laborers who has a Carabao and Plow to cultivate the rice field and pay higher than an ordinary labor. My father is really eager to have that Carabao but sadly he can't afford to buy.
I stopped my study in high school because of financial problem. My father can no longer support me in my study. Even for our food is hardly to get. If father doesn't have work as it is seasonal only in the farm, we don't have food to eat. His very little income is really not enough for our daily needs such food and other basic commodity. I really wanted to continue my study if given a chance. I know that education is very important and is the key to success in life. But in my situation being a poor I don't think I can have a better education.
I am loving, caring, thoughtful, loyal, sincere, intelligent, a farm girl, passionate, has sense of humor, quiet but very friendly, a shy type person, has good personality and attitude, family oriented, pure Filipina, understanding, respectful, obedient, most of all Honest and God fearing.
