I consider myself a kind and sensitive partner, and a loyal friend.
My work is software development, but I have other interests too, including music, travel, and the study of foreign languages and massage.
I have lived in the U.S. for most of my life (originally New York City, later the suburbs of Washington, DC), but visited the Philippines several times over the years. I have lived in Southeast Asia, mostly Chiang Mai, Thailand, since 2016. In January 2020 I visited the Philippines (Cebu, Davao, Manila, Cagayan de Oro, and Dumaguete) in search of a place to live. I wanted to stay, but on March 15th I felt I had to return to the US due to the COVID-19 situation. I returned to Thailand in late 2021 and have spent several months a year since then in the Philippines, mostly in Cebu City and Davao City. (My profile says I live in Manassas, Virginia, but that is just my official US address.)
I'm here to meet a woman who could be a good friend and possibly more; a friendly, kind, honest, emotionally stable, and attractive person. I myself seek to be all those things.
I have mixed feelings about marriage -- I was married before and, although there were good times, in general it was an unhappy experience. So I'm undecided about whether or not to marry again at all, and if I do, I'm not in a hurry to do so -- it's really important to me that the woman I marry is someone I know very well, and who is a very good friend. This takes time, so if you're looking for an instant husband, I am probably not the right person for you.
I love music, especially karaoke, and sing some Tagalog songs. I love to swim, and try to find places to stay during my travels with good swimming pools. For work, I am a software engineer (aka computer programmer), and spend several hours a day studying, writing software and blog articles, and participating in online community.
