I am (a young!) 54 (Birthday 1st September), I am approximately 5ft 10ins tall (although not really that important now as I am either in my wheelchair or bed when not in my `chair).
I have long ish dark (& grey!) hair worn in a pony tail, blue eyes, because of my scenario my physique is obviously nothing like it used to be - most muscles have gone off my chest, shoulders, arms etc and because most of my stomach muscles no longer work properly, my stomach sticks out a little bit more than I would like (VERY frustrating as I used to be in good condition and there is nothing I can do now to change that).
I have left a LOT of things out below because I had done SO many more things, but the things described below were the main things I did a year or so BEFORE my accident...
I had my accident on June 25th 1989 whilst competing in a Motocross race at a local track, this unfortunately left me paralysed and confined to a wheelchair (medically speaking, a Tetraplegia), I have some arm movement left, but I have to use wrist splints to keep my hands flat and a middle finger splint on each hand when I use my computer keyboard, my telephone (with headphones) etc.
I had been competing in Motocross races from the beginning of the 1988 season and in that season had gone through the Junior class (won every race) and then Senior class (won all but a few races); by about the two thirds stage of the season I found myself in the experts (won my first race) and by the end of the season found out that I had enough points to enter the qualifying rounds for the British Championship.
Basically, I entered the qualifying rounds and qualified amongst the top 40 125cc riders in the Country and found myself in the British Championship - Unfortunately I only competed in two rounds of the Champion
